The Art of Reveal
‘The Art of the Reveal’ is a womenswear collection inspired by the costumes within the Burlesque community, and the female empowerment offered to women who wear them.
My collection is inspired by designer Thierry Mugler, whose work embodied the concept of femininity in exploring the female body.
I was inspired to create a collection aiming to explore the presentation of the female body in a new and exciting way, but never losing the allure of what is left to reveal.
The collection highlights the development of femininity and control within burlesque costumes over time.

Key burlesque outfit pieces, such as gloves, are used in a more unconventional way to highlight the figure.
There are two main fabrics, black jersey material oriented with foil lace to create a shimmering surface bouncing off the body when hit by light.
The contribution of red neoprene fabric contributes to the impactful products. This is used as lining, glove hands and underwear.
All this creates the illusion of reveal in the way burlesque dancers wore their outfits, leaving the audience to decide what is on show
